No. When a load is connected to the battery with the charger attached, the charger supplies current to the load up to the maximum programmed output current of the charger. If the load current is greater than the charger current, the battery makes up the difference. When the load is removed or reduced, the charger supplies charge current to the battery until it is fully charged. After the battery is fully charged, the charger will continue to provide current to the load. When the load is removed, the charger enters the the float charge state. The load voltage will never exceed the overcharge voltage (14.4 volts as supplied).
